British Pensioners Federation Memorial

Anniversary 2016

On Sunday 22nd May at 14.00 Les McDowell, Chairman of the BTPF, along with over twenty members, attended an Anniversary service conducted by the Railway Chaplain, Ralph Coleman, at the Railway Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas.

Once again the weather was kind, at least whilst we conducted the simple service. Prayers were said, readings given and a wreath was laid followed by a minute’s silence. The Chairman thanked everyone for attending and noted that numbers of members present was getting higher year on year. He also reminded everyone that the BTPF would hold a Remembrance Day service on the 11th November later in the year.

The Memorial remains one of the outstanding Memorials on the whole site and many visitors on the day commented to members how splendid it was.
