BTPF Memorial – Alrewas

Many BTPF members have been asking if we could remember those staff who gave their lives specifically in times of conflict by laying a wreath on the 11th November each year. I feel that this is something that the BTPF can easily do.

British Transport Pensioners Federation.

On Friday 11th November 2016 Les McDowell, Tony Cotgreave, Mrs Pat Harrison and John Harrison attended a private service at the BTPF Memorial to lay a wreath in memory of Railway Staff. The weather was kind to us this year and we took our timings from the service at the nearby Armed Services Memorial. After The Last Post a two minutes silence was held following which  For the Fallen was given. The wreath was laid and will be available for a short time for anyone who wishes to visit to see.

Following the services a March Past was held and Prince Harry took the salute.
