Chester Branch

The North West Council has now wound up as a Group.
The Chester Branch is continuing and has direct contact with the National level of the B.T.P.F.

The Chester Branch of the BTPF meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 in the St. Werburgh’s Social Centre, 26 Brook Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 3DZ.

Membership costs just £3 a year and £1 a meeting. Meetings start with any formal business after which a guest speaker is introduced.


Resumption of Branch Meetings

Following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions Branch Committee meetings resumed from Tuesday 1st March 2022.  We look forward to welcoming all our members, Tea, Coffee and Biscuits are provided.

6th June  –   Talk by one of the Railway Mission Chaplains
4th JULY   –   Illustrated Talk by Ann Coward Blue Badge Guide on “Historic Chester ”
1st August   –   Meet at Chester Station at 11.00 am for a “Re-enactment Ceremony to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Official Opening of Chester Station” …… which actually took place on 1st August 1848
5th September   –   Members’ Meeting …… briefly talking about what they did on the Railway ….
3rd October   –   Phil Cook on Railway snippets on WW1
7th November   –   John Ryan on Railways of Liverpool
5th December   –   Local schoolchildren singing Carols
