A new venue for the monthly meetings in 2019/2020 is the Old Art College. It is directly behind Doncaster Minster, close to the Railway and Bus Stations and the multi-story car park.

Access to the old art college is via a few steps to a door with an intercom. There will be a committee member on the door at the start of meetings otherwise press “Office” on the intercom to gain entry.

A good social atmosphere exists in the Doncaster Railway Pensioners Branch.

Membership is £5 per annum plus £1 each meeting.

Members are encouraged to bring friends along to our monthly sessions.

Non-railway people are welcome to become Associate Members if they wish.

Guest Speakers at most meetings.

Newsletters are  sent to all members. If you are able to receive the Newsletter by email, please contact the Chairman, Jim Jewell, who will arrange it – this will help greatly with Branch finances, now that the cost of postage is so high.

The proposed outing for this season is a visit to the new National College for High Speed at 1 Carolina Way, Doncaster near the lakeside. The visit will be in the New Year but the actual date is still to be confirmed.

Members who do not attend the meetings are welcome to join us on our outings.
Contact either Jim Jewell (01302 851841) or Pat Plant (01302 365809) for further details or to book.

The Doncaster branch has cancelled it’s meetings in October, November, and December and will be reviewing the situation in October in respect of it’s 4 meetings in the new year.

Our meetings take place at the Old Art College on the first Thursday of each month from October through to April, all starting at 1:45 pm and finishing at 3 pm.

We usually run a raffle at a couple of our meetings in an effort to raise money to help towards the running costs of the hire of our meeting room and the speakers.

The raffles are always well supported and we are grateful to all those who regularly provide prizes/buy raffle tickets. Any offers of suitable prizes would be gratefully received.

This season we are planning to hold the Christmas raffle on the 5th December. The date of the second raffle will be decided in the New Year and will be announced at a prior meeting
