A future Locomotive Naming for the BTPF

John Harrison our National Chairman is pleased to announce that a Class 47 locomotive is to be named “British Transport Pensioners’ Federation”.  The event will take place at the National Railway Museum, York on Tuesday 9th June 2020 at 11.30.  The Rail Operations Group has kindly agreed to provide the locomotive, which after the ceremony will travel the length and breadth of the country.  Karl Watts, who founded ROG and is its Chief Executive Officer said “I am pleased to recognise the great work that the BTPF does on behalf of its members and that in our way we can spread the word about them around the country”.

The Rail Operations Group is the UK’s most innovative Train Operating Company and Number One Test Train Operator, dedicated to the Rolling Stock Manufacturing, Engineering and Leasing Sectors.  Since operations only began in November 2015, the achievements and awards that ROG have received since then include; Rail Operator of the Year in 2017 and an Engineering Excellence Award in 2018.  The company is going from strength to strength and amongst others supports, CAF, Stadler and Bombardier with new build deliveries and testing, fleet transfer and cascade programmes, fault free running, storage, commissioning and other related services.
