Kent Socials take place in JD Wetherspoons pubs, and the format of these is that we gather at the venue for a drink and chat, and some people follow this with lunch (all at own expense). They are very casual events, and everyone is very welcome.

Sussex Branch Social Gatherings
Sussex Branch Socials take place at Railway Clubs or similar. We had 55 members and guests attend a Sussex Social at Bognor Regis recently! Again, You do not have to book in advance to come along to these and the coffee / tea and buffet are provided to you free of charge but please buy raffle tickets and maybe occasionally bring along a little something for the raffle!

All our members – and one guest per member – are welcome at any of our Socials in Kent and Sussex, there’s no need to book!

Sussex Branch (R)Ambles

Sussex Branch Matinee Club
We send out details of theatre offers by email free of charge, or by post. All Matinée Club offers allow you to bring friends and family with you (subject to the occasional age restriction, if an offer is OAPs only for example), so it’s definitely not a “members only” sort of club – the more the merrier! All contributions of second class stamps are much appreciated as the OSA does not subsidise Claire’s postage and envelopes expenses.

Quarterly Newsletter

The Branch Quarterly Newsletter contains the information we put on this website and a whole lot more including reports on the events held, updates on Travel Restrictions for those that hold railway travel facilities in retirement, and information on heritage railways and main line steam in the south. Because of the cost of postage there is a small subscription to receive the Quarterly Newsletter and details of this are circulated with the Winter Newsletter which goes to all members.

If you are not a subscriber to the Quarterly Newsletter a copy of a recent Newsletter can be seen by clicking here.
