BR Hotel North Wall Dublin & Salesforce March 2024

BTPF members visit, 21st March 2024
to
Salesforce & British Rail Hotel Building, North Wall, Dublin

Our visit was a great success and all who attended were delighted with the tour of the building and the changes made to it since its acquisition by Salesforce.

Great credit to Salesforce for keeping much of the buildings features and preserving the building to be enjoyed by those who may grace its interiors for generations to come.

The visit started with the Country Leader for Salesforce Ireland, Carolan Lennon, welcoming our group. She went on to explain the role Salesforce had in the changes made, while the architect for the project gave a screen presentation of the changes, while explaining the reasons for particular changes.

Sec. of BTPF, Paul Murphy, gave a reply to Carolan’s talk and praised Salesforce for the investment in the Hotel Building. Paul then went on to briefly explain the history of the BTPF in Ireland.

Brian Scott was then invited to talk a little about some important events that took place over the years at North Wall in general. During Brian’s talk, he described some colourful characters who worked in the building. Salesforce were delighted to listen Brian’s talk and the various bits of information that would not be ordinarily known.

Chairwoman, Mary Smith, closed the formalities by thanking Paul for his efforts in organising the visit, thanked Salesforce for their hospitality and went on to make a presentation of the commissioned print of the Hotel Building to Carolan Lennon of Salesforce.

Tours of the building then took place,split into three groups and much time was spent by members trying to identify offices and locations in the building, very enjoyable.

The tours finished and all retired for a very generous Buffet Lunch hosted by Salesforce. The visit ended at 14.30hrs.
