Railway Benefit Fund – Retired Community Event

The next Retired Community Event, is on Monday 25th March(See Notice below) and we’re thrilled that Peak Rail have kindly offered to host the event at their Rowsley South Station, and their
Director – Jacob Short will be giving a talk about his experiences in rail and hopefully taking us on a short tour of their workshop!

It promises to be an excellent day and perhaps you can join us, but please note that places are limited, so book your place by calling or text  the following number 07542 847032.

With the school summer holidays ahead of us and the new school year around the corner, it’s an expensive time ahead for parents!

Railway Benefit Fund have recently been helping families with music lessons, sports equipment, summer camps, clubs and school uniform.

The fund is available to families with a household income less than £40,000 and it is for a maximum of £300 which can make all the difference when finances are a struggle.

SURVEY

The Rail Industry is going through some major changes and RBF need to adapt to these changes to ensure we remain relevant and current.

We are here to support everybody in rail through difficult times so it is important for us to understand what employees past and present are going through.

We are looking for input from across the industry – from rail companies to supply chain organisations, from current workers to those who have retired.

All your opinions and perspectives are valuable to us. By gathering your thoughts we can shape our services to ensure we are providing what is really needed.

Please help us by completing this short survey of 9 questions which should take no more than 10 minutes of your time.

The survey can be completed via SurveyMonkey.

HOW THE RBF CAN HELP

The RBF is the only UK charity solely dedicated to supporting current, retired and former railway employees and their families through tough times. We are proud to say we are there for all railway people.

We are not a membership based charity which means we will help anyone regardless of whether they give to us.
The RBF has a long history of giving financial grants for such things as funeral costs, white goods and household items, debt relief, mobility aids, respite and convalescence costs, home repairs and disability adaptations, rent deposits, car repairs and so on and we still do this but we now also offer: –
Legal Advice through our Law Express App
Debt and budgeting advice through our partnership with Citizens Advice Manchester
Carers’ Support Service via our dedicated support telephone line
Please explore our website www.railwaybenefitfund.org.uk for further details or ring our Services Team on 0345 241 2885 Option 1 and we will be happy to assist you or email: support@railwaybenfitfund.org.uk
