Wessex – About the Branch

Now an an amalgamated branch of Bournemouth, Southampton and the West of England (includes Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Southampton and District)

Life Members and their spouses and our Honorary Members (widows or widowers of former Life Members) are welcome to attend all of our functions.

Visitors from other branches are welcome to attend our Coffee Mornings.  Please make yourself known to the Secretary.

Potential new members are especially welcomed at our Coffee Mornings, where details of joining arrangements are always available from the Secretary.

Social Functions

TUESDAY 14th JANUARY 2020
ANNUAL LUNCH. — NOTE THE NEW VENUE :-

THE PARKSIDE AND FLEMING PARK BOWLING CLUB – FUNCTION ROOM, KORNWESTHEIM WAY.
Off PASSFIELD AVENUE, EASTLEIGH SO50 9NL.
Start time – 13.00hrs.

The cost is £15.00 per person for the food, raffle and gratuities.
The choice is slow roasted beef or pork, served with hot bread rollsand butter, a selection of roast potatoes, parsnips roasted with honey, sprouts in butter, baby carrots, swede mash, buttered cabbage,
cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire Pudding and home made gravy.
Dessert is apple pie and custard with fresh cream, or Sherry Trifle
with strawberries, or diabetic fresh fruit salad.
NB. A Gluten free meal can be provided with the above or a Vegetarian option – please state on booking form.
Followed by tea/coffee served at the table.
Water Jugs on tables.

TUESDAY 17th MARCH 2020
The Railway Club, Brunel House, Fisherton Street, Salisbury SP2 7RL. Coffee and brunch, all prepared by volunteer railway club members. Cost £2.50 payable at the door.
Commence at 10.30hrs. (Bar open at 12 noon). Raffle. Make a day of it and visit Salisbury and the market afterwards. The club is approx. 5 mins. walk from station and 15 mins walk from City Centre. Buses go along Fisherton Street to the market square.

The Railway Institute at Eastleigh
commencing 13.00hrs. Part Two of illustrated talk by Paul James –
“Hamworthy to Weymouth” followed by Branch Annual General Meeting.
